While both coaches and therapists help individuals improve their lives, therapists typically focus on addressing mental health issues and past traumas, while life coaches focus on helping individuals achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.
A typical session lasts 50 minutes. Just like each client is unique, so are their sessions. A client may find they need a longer session or two sessions in the same week. Some clients want to meet weekly and some every other week. I recommend weekly initially.
We are all taking our own personal journey. Your journey depends on what you want to achieve and how quickly you get to your goal. Some people work with me for one issue then choose to continuing working with me on an on-going basis. It's completely up to you how long you want to work together.
The ideal coaching client is someone who possesses the following:
*Having the desire or personal will to change
*Showing up with an open mind and curiosity
*A willingness to find your motivating factor for wanting to change
*Trusting your coach enough to be honest and open
*A willingness to surrender to the unknown and the unfamiliar
It is important to know that you don't have to be perfect in all areas. The first two points are the most important along with keeping a positive, open mind will lead to lasting change and success.
You are in charge of what we over in a session. Some people are looking to make behavioral changes, others are looking to overcome weaknesses. You might choose to work on developing new skills or moving past limiting beliefs. No matter what we work on, it is driven by you and the outcomes you would like to achieve. I will remain curious and ask questions to help you achieve the outcomes you are striving for.
You have likely spent years making sure your family has what they need, and now it's time to unpause and find your path.
You can expect to:
*Be challenged
*Be supported
*Be respected
*Be supported in finding solutions
*Learn about yourself
We will meet for approximately 30 minutes. The purpose of this call is to discuss your situation and find out what you are looking for. My goal is to make sure that I am a good fit to partner with you in the coaching process. I will answer all your questions that you might have for me.
My approach to goal-setting is to help clients identify specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. I also work with clients to create an action plan and provide accountability to ensure they stay on track to achieve their goals.
Confidentiality is of utmost importance in my coaching practice. I adhere to the International Coach Federation's (ICF) Code of Ethics, which includes strict guidelines for maintaining client confidentiality.
Life and personal coaching is not yet covered by insurance.
I have several different options. For more information on the rates for each package, please visit the Services page. Billing is made at the time a package is purchased or an appointment is made, and payment is required before the start of each coaching session.
PayPal, cash and check are current forms of accepted payment at this time.
Coaching is a commitment. You are encouraged to keep your regularly scheduled appointments, as the results of our work together are cumulative. The best results usually happen because of your consistency and follow-through. Even if you feel unprepared, there is value to be gained from exploring what's going on. That being said, emergencies can happen to anyone; therefore, if an emergency keeps you from attending a session, a 24 hour late cancel policy is in effect. Should you need to cancel, please do so 24 hours prior to your scheduled session to avoid being charged.
